Satrec Initiative Unveils Domestic High-Resolution Satellite 'SpaceEye-T'

Satrec Initiative, led by CEO Dr. Ee-Eul Kim, announced the launch of its Very-very-high-resolution Earth observation satellite 'SpaceEye-T' at the 2024 International Astronautical Congress (IAC) held in Milan, Italy.

The IAC, one of the largest space conferences in the world, is being held this year under the theme "Responsibility for Sustainable Space Development."

Scheduled for launch in March 2025, SpaceEye-T is expected to contribute to sustainable technology development and environmental monitoring through advanced Earth observation capabilities. 

After its launch, satellite operations and data distribution will be managed by SI Imaging Services (SIIS), a subsidiary of Satrec Initiative.

By participating in IAC 2024, Satrec Initiative aims to expand its global presence and strengthen international cooperation. CEO Dr. Ee-Eul Kim emphasized, "The Satrec Initiative Group stands at the forefront of the space industry, leveraging decades of experience in satellite manufacturing and AI-based imaging services."

Founded by engineers who developed Korea's first satellite in 1999, Satrec Initiative has contributed to the success of over 28 domestic and international space programs over the past 30 years. 

Established in 2014 as a subsidiary of Satrec Initiative, SIIS provides satellite imagery for Korea's multipurpose practical satellites 3, 3A, and 5.
